Here on the farm, we’re in that period that comes along every year, when it’s not quite Spring, and not quite Winter. To me, it’s the doldrums, creatively speaking. I have a hard time settling down to work, and no jolts of inspiration. I know it will pass, and sometimes I can help it along by browsing through old images, looking for ideas. Here are some I found, and thought you might like for your own art.
From a 19th century children’s book. What wonderful lettering!
Title page from another early children’s book. This could make a wonderful background for altered art.
The composition and type faces on this one make my heart skip.
This is just the outfit I wear when gardening here on the farm.
A page from an old book of Nursery Rhymes – part of “Old Mother Hubbard”.
If you’d like to use any of these,in your artwork, please help yourself.

I have managed to add some new digital image sets to my Digital Antiques shops at Etsy and Artfire. Here’s what’s new:
Vintage Bicycle Post Cards
That’s not all, but I’ll share the others in the next post. Have a happy week, from the Dog and me.
Thanks are beautiful
ReplyDeleteVery cool, Jan. March...usually mud season in the northeast. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteLove the bicycle images and the lady in the garden especially.
Hugs, Diane
Wonderful images, it's nice of you to share. I love the owls. Looking at your Etsy and Artfire, I see you only have digital downloads available...do you make printed images for sale...or images on a CD?

Glad you like the images, Marcie. Although my items are digital, I do make printed copies on request. No plans for CD's at this time.
